The Farm covers about thirty hectares, about fifteen of which are used for market gardening and seven for arboriculture (apple, pear, plum and cherry). The rest is planted with alfalfa, which acts as a green manure, cleaning up the soil and providing nitrogen to the soil. This will be available for vegetables in subsequent years.
The farm grows a wide variety of vegetables:
- Under tunnel: tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, beans, cucumbers, courgettes, melons, salads and lamb’s lettuce in winter
- Outdoors: Potatoes, carrots, salad, leeks, parsnips, cabbage, squash (pumpkins, pumpkins, butternut, etc…), radishes, red beets, turnips, onions, shallots,… depending on the seasons.
The choice is impressive.
